First Reformed Church of Scotia is governed by its Consistory, which is composed of six elders and six deacons.

In order to fulfil its many obligations, the Consistory currently convenes seven Councils. Below is a brief descriptions of each Council and the Consistory member(s) who lead them.
Administration Council oversees the ministry of congregational communication, community relations, personnel, stewardship and finance. Consistory Members: Don Bowers & Debbie Perretta.
Building and Grounds Council members act as faithful trustees of the church’s property. Consistory Members: John Ackner & Lee Poremba.
Christian Education Council supports and encourages the ongoing Christian education of the congregation’s members and friends, including nursery care, Sunday School, youth groups and adult programs. Consistory Members: David Schalekamp & Becky Okpoti-Jarczynski.
Congregational Care Council organizes fellowship opportunities including coffee hour, small groups and outings AND assists the pastor with pastoral care and visitation. Consistory Member: Pam Walsh.
Fellowship Council responsible for developing and overseeing ministries which provide relational connections for members and friends of the congregation and extend welcome and hospitality to all. Consistory Member: Sue Penn.
Missions Council reaches out to the sick, the poor, the hurt, the helpless, and the victims of the world’s abuse, and expresses the social concerns of the church. Consistory Members: Laura Bull & Bill Shave.
Worship Council is responsible for the work of supporting and encouraging congregational worship, including the ministry of music. Consistory Members: Paul Munson & June Coryer.
