Schenectady Community Ministries

First Reformed Church of Scotia is one of 58 congregations that support the Schenectady Inner City Ministry, an ecumenical partnership founded in 1967 that provides social services and works for social justice.

Located at 930 Albany St. in Schenectady, SICM manages numerous programs, such as a food pantry, a hospitality center for people infected with or affected by HIV/AIDS, a job placement center, a revolving loan fund for tenants needing security deposits, after-school activities, summer lunches for children and community gardens.

Every year, on the first Sunday in May, members of First Reformed Church join hundreds of other people in the community at the CROP Walk, an event that raises money for local and international food relief programs.
